Labradors make not only great sportsmen’ companions, they are also the ultimate field dogs. Field trials are competitive events for hunting dogs that are usually organized by gundogs associations or kennel clubs. There are field trials for the various breeds of hunting dogs. Labrador retrievers are judged on their accurate marking, on their ability to retrieve the bird quickly, and to deliver it gently to its handler, without damaging it during the retrieve.
